Walsall Cultural Education Partnership (WCEP) – Development Officer (Freelance). Fee: £5,000. WCEP is seeking an experienced freelance Development Officer/organisation (this is open to both individuals and organisations) to support the Management Group to develop and deliver its planned programme and forward plan. The Development Officer will support WCEP by: Managing, recruiting and engaging new and existing WCEP members; co-ordinating and administration of all meetings; co-ordinating digital and social media presence; developing and delivering an annual Tea Party for teachers and arts, cultural and heritage organisations/professionals in autumn/winter, with support from a Task Group; identifying and applying for funding and investment to fund WCEP activity and programmes, with support from the Management Group.

Are you looking for ways to bring the curriculum to life? After a long two years you are invited to take your place at the tea table. Come and meet a host of arts organisations, venues and artists all brimming with ideas to refresh the curriculum. You will get a chance to meet arts organisations large and small, galleries and museums and some lovely artists too. Who is it for? Early Years, Primary, Special and Secondary school teachers will be able to meet arts organisations, museums and artists who are delivering some of the most exciting education programmes in the country. NAG welcomes the whole community to join it for a cuppa and a cupcake at its tea party: make lolly- stick Queen’s guards and platinum paper crowns; plaster cast your own coin design; help to decorate the building with red, white and blue wool, and contribute to our giant collaborative collage inspired by Hew Locke’s Jungle Queen II, in the Gallery’s Collection.
Walk and Draw

Artist Tess Radcliffe leads these fast paced and fun workshops.
Make speedy sketches of artworks in the Collections and temporary exhibitions, the Gallery’s architecture, the magnificent views from the Gallery’s windows, and the local area, including the
wildlife along the canal, public sculptures and historical buildings along the high street. The focus will vary each month therefore attendees are welcome to book onto all sessions, but this is not necessary.
Sessions will incorporate the five ‘Ways to Wellbeing’: take notice, be active, keep learning, connect
and give.
No prior experience of drawing is necessary. All drawing materials are provided. The sessions are accessible for mobility scooters and wheelchair users.
Please wear suitable attire and bring an umbrella for when we venture outside. This is an 18+ event.

Crochet for Beginners with artist Kate Tilley

Take the first steps on your crochet journey with artist Kate Tilley. In an introduction to this popular craft you’ll learn some basic crochet techniques with Kate’s step-by-step tutoring. Inspiration will be on hand in the form of ‘Working from Home’, a yarn installation by Sarah Byrne and part of the West Midlands Open exhibition.
