Call out to community music organisations I am a third-year student at the University of Wolverhampton, and I am looking for community music organisations to fill out a questionnaire, that will aid me in collecting vital information for my dissertation – The Impact of Music in a Social, Cultural, Educational and Mental Context. The questions are revolved around music sessions, the benefits for those involved, how effective the sessions are, what the sessions involve etc. The questions have been asked in such a way to protect your privacy, and all data will be destroyed accordingly and appropriately. Oily Cart, are looking for families to help develop their show ‘Space to Be’. Oily Cart are now booking families onto the tour of the show which will take place in their home through a series of packages. ‘Space to Be’ is being developed in response to the experiences of families with a young person labelled as having complex needs, who feel they are being pushed over the limits of their capacity during lockdown, with reduced or no support. Enabling moments of joy, play and connection, the project’s focus will be on sensory wellbeing for both adults and young people in each household, to explore new ways of being together, even in a restricted environment. This show has been designed for children with complex needs and their families; it takes place over a week in their home and will work flexibly around each family’s routine. Ikon Launches New Activity Packs Designed for Creative Learning at School or Home (KS 1, 2 & 3). Created by Birmingham artist Farwa Moledina, the packs are inspired by Ikon’s exhibition Faster Than Ever (4 December 2020 – 14 February 2021). They include creative activities such as painting, mask making and portraiture, with links to artists’ films you can watch online and questions for thinking and talking about art in relation to other subjects, including global cultures and environments. Arts Connect has repurposed its funding in order to invest in the arts and cultural sector to innovate in their practice and their leadership of arts and cultural programmes created by, with and for children and young people aged 0-25yrs. A key priority is that Local Cultural Education Partnerships (LCEPs) will benefit from the outcomes of the work undertaken by arts and culture learning and engagement leaders in the West Midlands as they build their personal and organisational leadership capacity.
This fund is open to applications from those who have previously taken part in Arts Connects Leadership Programme Leadership Through Influence. You must be a resident of the West Midlands and not currently benefiting from being on a leadership programme or course.

Call out to West Midlands artists for the acquisition of works for The New Art Gallery Walsall’s collections. The New Art Gallery Walsall wishes to support artists currently based in the West Midlands through acquisitions of works made in response to world events over the last year (in particular, the impact of COVID-19 and Black Lives Matter). Artists are invited to submit proposals for existing paintings, drawings, photographs or prints to be acquired for the Permanent Collection of The New Art Gallery Walsall. As well as acquiring works, we will profile the selected artists on our website and social media platforms and eventually through display.
Criteria :
- Artists must be currently living and working in the West Midlands region
- Submissions must have been made since 23 March 2020
- Submissions must have been made in response to events over the past year
- Works must be of a modest domestic scale, preferably under approx. 50×50 cm
- Each proposed work must be priced at a maximum of £500.

- Looking for creative activities for children? The Art Gallery now has 50 workshops to choose from, devised by our talented artist educators.
- It recently published the first of a series of films providing tours of the Garman Ryan Collection. The film focuses on themed room Animals & Birds, featuring the work of Delacroix, Braque, beautiful Egyptian and Māori artefacts as well as visitor favourite, Jacob Epstein’s sculpture of his beloved Shetland sheep dog, Frisky.
